In my case it is the skipper's body weight that is the issue. My mk2 is only 6kg overweight - I wish I was only 6kg overweight!!
It's not the flat water, it's the fact that there is so much less bouyancy in the fresh the extra weight of the GRP boats is more noticeable/detrimental.
