    Hobie wanted

I have a 17 for sale at the below link: http://catsailor.net/forums/showthread.php?5018-Hobie-17-For-Sale In my opinion a far better layup than a 16 or 18. Only catch is I am in Victoria, but something could be worked out. Let me know if you are interested. Hamish.glen@salmat.com.au
  2. 'Asawa' is now for sale due to growing family. The name has been professionally designed and installed on the hull, with no peeling or cracking, and is a sticker install so if you felt inclined to change the name you could, even though it is bad luck! Everything required for sailing is included and is ready to hit the water. The contents include: Boat (White Hulls, 1996 build) Sail (Colourful, Sail Number 3903) Mast (Black) Sheets/Tiller Extension (All included) Beach Rollers (Red) Trampoline (Black Mesh with Pockets) Wings (Black with Black Mesh Tramps) Trailer (Vic Registered with working lights) Sailbox (White & Lockable, locks included. Box is fixed to Trailer) Dual Trapeze With Excellent Harnesses (Comfortable! 1 x Kids, 1 x Adult) This is a super fast and reliable boat, and if you haven't sailed one before they are really easy to control - and they don't nosedive! This is the 2nd boat of this model I have owned. Boat is located in Highett, (Near Sandringham) Victoria but can negotiate a potential delivery if required. Priced for quick sale at $4,900 Contact: hamish.glen@salmat.com.au

Raise mast solo on trailer ?

Thanks KO, I managed to get the mast up using the halyard trick with my wife last weekend which worked ok.. Getting it down again was a bit daunting and luckily someone was walking past who grabbed a trap wire and gave assistance. (not before I had injured my back tho..) I guess I should mention that the 42kg wife 'aint to much help.. Hence my determination to get the sukker up and down with a minimum of fuss on the trailer. I grew up sailing around Sorrento where you could safely just keep a boat on the beach but you can't really do that around the Sandringham area, some idiot would just trash the boat. So I now have to put up and bring down the mast everytime I use the boat. If anyone has some fancy winch set up that works please let me know!
  6. Hi all, I’ve been thinking of a possible way to step the mast on a 17ft cat while on the trailer by connecting the mainsheet from the trapeze wires to the top point of the mast holder on the trailer, then after lifting the mast up on to my shoulder start sheeting in and guide the mast up. Has anyone used this method (successfully)?

Thanks TS & Darcy, think i'll stick to the H17. My racing and capsizing days are over, I just want to cruise - and fly a hull occasionally of course! Cheers!

Would sailing one of these one up be a silly idea? (I'm about 74kg). I'll be taking the kids sailing often as well so don't really want to be flipping the thing either. Do they nosedive? I have a vast history with H14 and H17 but the H18 is unknown territory. Any tips? Thanks!
